N: oaky wood laden with vanilla, Malibu coconut rum, toffee and milk chocolate. Sharp, crisp green apple adds a refreshing tartness.
P: heathery with honey and a toffee are initially prominent. Lip tingling spiciness of tannin and marmalade. Jammy berries and fig are buried away in here also. Creamy mouthfeel of soft and well balanced oak.
F: Medium-long. Caramel and chocolate initially with late and lingering pepper-chilli spice.
Beautiful depth of flavour, wonderfully layered with rich and complex flavours. Excellent balance and mouthfeel speak of an excellent quality of process and product. I don’t much care for the tingly spice that arrives early on and ends as a chilli note. But that’s being a little nit-picky as this is rather wonderful stuff.
(This was a Whisky Loot exclusive, limited to just sixty bottles. This tasting was from a 60 ml sampler. I doubt anyone will ever add to this review. But I’d be remiss not to share this wonderful stuff!)

@DrRHCMadden unlike Archie Rose, which I found here, I don’t think this will appear anytime soon in the US, if at all…given that miniscule output
@DrRHCMadden unlike the Archie Rose, which I found heee
@cascode ahhh, you sound like me when I say my expertise in geology. It is for this reason that I know you trust your input and experience.those who acknowledge how little they they are often those who know the most.
@Jose-Massu-Espinel Very kind of you but I'm just an enthusiastic amateur. I know enough to know just how little I really know, and I know that the best people to pay attention to are the professionals who actually make whisky, and not critics or influencers.
@DrRHCMadden hahhhhah me? as versed as @cascode ? i can only wish to be like him in the whisky world!
@cascode haha! Not at all, but I suspect there are few on distiller as knowledgeable and well versed as you, except save for @Jose-Massu-Espinel and a few others.. I will keep a keen eye out for these. Or perhaps just finally visit Tassie!
@DrRHCMadden Wise oracle? You takin' the piss? LOL Actually I can't help with that one as it's a whisky with which I'm not acquainted. I have a vague memory of trying something from them at a whisky show, but no notes in my journal. I've heard only good things, however.
What’s you’re view on Launceston oh wise oracle @cascode ? I am keen to try and track more down if they are anything like this!
