Linkwood 2008 15 Year (Whiskybase)
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland

Highly esteemed by the blenders, most of Linkwood's production disappears into the Johnnie Walker range, which is a shame. The nose is clean and citrus-forward, emphasizing lemon peel, guava and spearmint. With water, hints of cantaloupe, mango and peppercorn unfold. Rich and mouth-coating in the arrival, the palate bursts with ripe tropical fruits, heather honey and ginger before turning slightly dry in the development. Grapefruit zest, eucalyptus and emerging tannins fade in the medium finish. A great summer dram, punchy and refreshing.

@PBMichiganWolverine Some bourbons and American whiskeys would be great, the selection is rather poor in Europe, so I usually don't bother to buy them very often.
@Slainte-Mhath nice! Thanks! Looking forward to the Oslo evening out. I’ve started filling up some American whiskey and bourbon…focusing on American , thinking it might be harder to find there
@PBMichiganWolverine I filled a sample of this Linkwood for you, thought it might be interesting.
Additional comment: My vacation bottle 2024, and I really enjoyed it. I also sipped some gin as a malternative as I do every year, simply to give my palate a little break from single malts. Time flies when life is good!
Additional information: Bottled for Whiskybase to celebrate 240,000 bottles in the database, this Linkwood was distilled in 2008, matured in a hogshead for 15 years, and bottled in 2023 at 59.9% ABV (273 bottles).
