The nose is oaky and spicey, with big notes of earthy rye spice and brown sugar. Slight notes of vanilla and molasses come in the background. A certain funk comes out that offers a very nice balance the boldness.
The palate immediately coats the mouth in earthy rye spice and brown sugar, all wrapped up in vanilla. It's got an amazing intensity for only being 46%. The whisky stays spicey no matter how long it sits and breathes, with every sip delivering a succulent rye experience.
The finish is medium long and spicey with the rye gradually giving way to dark chocolate. It is the perfect way for this drink to end and is a remarkable example of how rye should be.
