The nose is an immediate burst of smooth and creamy oak, and vanilla, molasses, brown sugar, ripe fruit, buttered corn and fresh bread. It is incredible all around with an amazing balance. It really draws you in for your first sip.
The palate is gentle but fills the mouth with creamy oak and vanilla, with a side of mild pepper. The oak turns a bit astringent - with a sort of funk setting in. Ripe fruit and brown sugar are there in the background, but this defibitely stays oak dominant. It is quite intriguing, yet absolutely delicious and unique.
The finish is long and somewhat chewy as the mouth stays tingling. The funk sticks to the inside of the mouth, leaving you with a lot of flavor to continue to enjoy until the next sip.
