It tastes like very little. However, it doesn't have the bad stuff that cheaper stuff has, like a harshness or a burn or an ethanol taste. It is definitely worthy on the rocks, although I would never say it's recommended. For the price, for the reliability, for the number of places it's found, definitely a good option for everyday use. The Heineken of whisky - available everywhere, isn't bad, but isn't inspiring. $52
