Move over, Powers - The Rev's got a new go-to Irish tipple. Now that it's available here in the US, I figured I had to try it out since it's St. Paddy's weekend in Chicago. You can do worse for ways to ring it in. The nose is exuberantly fruity - ripe apples and pears, some lemon peel, honey, and vanilla. The palate is lush, rich, and smooth, with the classic Irish hallmarks coming through loud and clear. Fruity, spicy, with a bit of grain and vanilla...and a happy St. Paddy's it is indeed.

Wow, good to know that Flaviar's not worth the money. I keep getting ads from them. It'll be interesting to see how this one develops as it's opened longer...though, if we're being honest here, it was purchased largely to help keep the annual celebration of my family's heritage going, so it may not get a ton of opportunity to age gracefully in the bottle, especially if it gets shared with my mom's big Irish family...
I had this as part of Flaviar sample some time back. Most of my Flaviar samples were a bust (I then stopped the service). Not sure if they use older used bottles to derive the samples
Will def have to add it to my wishlist. It's very cheap here. Just over $40 USD
