Had this at a restaurant. Tough to get a good nose with a tumbler. Dried fruit and wood on the nose. Taste without water was tons of wood and spice, heat, fruit. Adding water brought the fruitiness up a lot, still a lot of wood and spice though. It was good, but I'm not as in to Sherry bombs as some. 3/5

@Lee: we have batch 40 in line for either round 5 or 6
I had a bottle from Batch 50 that I thought was flat out amazing. Lots of sherry influence and still very smooth. Then I had a bottle from Batch 56 was was very underwhelming. The sherry craziness was gone and it seemed quite a bit more harsh. Either my palate evolved or there's more than just a little variation from one batch to the next. The overall price has come down, as well. I'm not sure if that should be considered an indicator of the quality level or just market oversaturation. This one was one of my all time favorites, but now it's not so much. Great review, cheers.
Yeah, that's the bummer about most restaurants and bar, it's rare to see a Glencairn unless they have an extensive whisk(e)y menu. I always twitch when they ask if I want something on the rocks. It was good, but from having there I know that I probably don't want to invest in a bottle.
Tumbler?? Oh man - the nose I think you'd like more in a Glencairn for sure... I love that clove cigarette finish man.. Cheers!
