Nose is slightly ethanolly raisan characteristics. Sweet candy floss, caramel and mild px and olorosso sherry. Aftertaste is a bit bitter and stringent. Definitely comes across as younger. 3.25.

@PBMichiganWolverine Yeah I'd love to try their higher rated ones but no samples popping up on MoM. I think I have a sample of the American Oak but not the ones you rate highly
@Scott_E What were the highlight offerings in the tasting in your opinion?
@Soba45 what I really do like about them is that they do one thing, and one thing—-make American whiskey using local barley, and soon...local peat
@Scott_E Cheers :-). Yeah it was the first dram of the night and if I let it rest it might have gone a bit higher but the dominant characteristics of these younger ones are hard to shake..or enjoy that much!
@Scott_E totally agree. Their 2017 Garryana and 2017 Peat Week were amazing though
@Soba45 I went to a Westland tasting a few days ago. Tasted this as well. In succinct form, you described my similar experience. This was good, but not it warrants a $70 price tag.
