Michter's US*1 Toasted Barrel Finish Rye (2017 Release)
Rye — Kentucky, USA

Bought a pour of this over a sushi dinner this evening. I have no idea why this was so much in demand, close to $150 /bottle in price, and so damn hard to find. There’s dozens of others at a fraction of the price and much better. This has aromas of toasted rye bread with butter, and taste of dill ( MGP?), charred oak, and mint. Do yourself a favor—-save about $100/bottle and instead buy Whip Saw rye. This one simply lacks the complexity and depth for something that’s close to $150. Drinks more like a $30.

@Generously_Paul @Scott_E yeah for a NAS rye, it’s a bit on the pricey side at $50. But I’m willing to pay for that slight premium considering how difficult it is to balance Rye with red wine
@PBMichiganWolverine Can you send me your email?
@MilanCh absolutely. One of the few consults I do free of charge ☺️
Hi, like your reviews. Can I consult with you about something?
@Scott_E Whip Saw is something special. For a rye it’s a bit on the pricy side at $50, but it’s one that I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again
@PBMichiganWolverine After yours and @Generously_Paul reviews I did indeed pick me up a bottle of Whip Saw. Had a taste at, of course, a tasting. Was quite good though I am looking forward to sitting down with that one.
@dubz480 huge disappointment. Individual taste buds, so maybe it’s just not for me
Wow, that's dissapionting. Love the Michters 10 and have been hunting this one!
