I bought a bottle of this Bourbon a few weeks ago to taste any product from the Old Forester line. If this is an entry Bourbon then well-done gentlemen this is a very good entry into their Bourbon. As I drank this I really enjoyed the full flavor it had at 86 proof. When I began drinking whiskeys I would not have enjoyed it the flavor is bold and in your face. The nose has vanilla and a little bit of sweetness but the wood is right there to greet you. The flavor stays in your mouth for some time after swallowed and the wood is present all the way through the drink. As this bottle has been open for several weeks the flavor has changed for the better. For the price, this is very good and I am glad I was able to try it well after I had many other Bourbons as a reference for this one. As I said earlier it is bold and when mixed please take that into consideration when making drinks with it. It does make an excellent Old Fashioned but merely an okay Manhattan. (I do not know if it is the woody notes that make it just okay) This is a good Bourbon that is easy to find and inexpensive. Enjoy.
