Day 11 of #30daysofbourbon for the #30daybourbonchallenge #bhm
Maker's Mark
70% Corn 16% Red Winter Wheat 14% Barley
I haven't had MM in a while. Typically I don't thrive on wheater bourbons. I usually go for the spice of a rye. That said, it was time to revisit this classic
Nose is a bubble yum bubble gum. A little more butterscotch after sitting for a little bit. A slight hint of grass.
First sip is a little more ethanol bite than I expected. grassy (That's the wheat) and a little bit of oak. Not a heavy mouthfeel. Actually pretty light.
Finish stays around for a while with a KY hug. A little bitter after taste.
I'd give it a 3 out of 5. I'm not really a huge wheater fan though. It's a solid wheater bourbon. I just crave the spice.
