Single Malt — Ireland

My first peated Irish whiskey. As soon as I opened the bottle, it was evident the peat was present, but not like it’s present in Ardbeg, the peat is a little subdue. The flavor was a little sweet like pears with lime and orange, but the peat was long lasting. Minutes after the drink ended, there was remnants of the peat in my palate. One draw back was the lower ABV of 40%. I wonder how this would be at 46 or 49.

I completely agree with you on the low proof. I tried the regular Connemara and it was surprisingly good, but tasted a little young and desperately needed a higher proof (at least 46%).
