Kentucky Derby Commemorative Bottles

May 5, 2017

The “fastest two minutes in sports” also known as the Kentucky Derby is coming up this Saturday, May 6th. This year marks the 143rd year of the race, but if you can’t be at Churchill Downs in person, you can certainly cheer on your pick with any of the commemorative bottlings below. So throw on your best hat and fancy duds, grab one of these bottles, and you’re off!

WOODFORD RESERVE KENTUCKY DERBY 143RD BOURBON

For the 19th straight year, Woodford Reserve has been the Official Bourbon of the Kentucky Derby. During the 2016 event, renowned equine artist, Thomas Allen Pauly was given the opportunity to witness and photograph the races from the roof of Churchill Downs. This served as inspiration for the 143rd commemorative bottling that features his artwork for the second year in a row, and a rare perspective of the Kentucky Derby. These liter-sized bottles will be hitting shelves in March 2017, just in time for the event in Louisville. Like past releases, the juice inside is the flagship Woodford Reserve Bourbon bottled at 45.2% ABV.

This Single Barrel bottling from Four Roses contains a miniature photo of the official 2017 Kentucky Derby Festival poster.
