Tastes

Keeping with the WT profile I’ve come to love, this is a very enjoyable pour with a good balance of spice and flavor at the 100 proof. It has a nose and initial taste that reminds me of robitussin randomly, but I really liked it. I only didn’t rate it higher because somehow I expected perfection out of it, but it’s still damn good

Very easy drinking rye. The smokiness is an excellent, not overpowering compliment to the traditional rye spiciness (which itself isn’t too prominent). Excellent balance

Bright nose of sugar and oak. Great taste. Lux keeps up the good work. I’d still prefer OE7, but this is a nice sweeter pour

Strong peanut nose. Very good at 90 proof

Very strong ethanol nose that doesn’t transfer through to the taste. Enjoyable cask strength pour with good flavor, but not particularly a stand out for the normal price point. Bub City restaurant pick sold during COVID liquidation

Apparently blended using whiskey sourced from MGP and OZ Tyler. A lot may be scared because of it’s cousin the wonderful (to me!) Malort, but this is a really tasty bourbon especially at the price point. Nice subtle spiciness
