Tamnavulin Double Cask
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed September 11, 2021 (edited November 17, 2024)Second tasting of the evening. 4/5 bottle. Very discreet and not deep taste, in a bad sense. Sharp alcohol taste and alcohol burning in the mouth. A very bit of wood cask in the finish. The smell a lot of alcohol. The nose burns and tickles. Between 2.25 and 2.5 stars. -
First tasting of the evening after a lot of beer. A very pleasant drink with a good balance of taste. There is a lot of alcohol in the smell, but it tastes only a slight tickle of the tongue. The taste is not bright, but everything that is needed from whiskey is present in it. Immediately put 2.75, maybe more in subsequent tastings.

Second tasting of the evening. Very discreet and not deep taste, in a bad sense. Sharp alcohol taste and alcohol burning in the mouth. Lots of sharp sweet. A bit of wood cask in the finish. But at the same time, there is a hint of balance in the taste. The smell a lot of alcohol. The nose burns and tickles. Aftertaste: coffee and cigarettes, in a bad sense. Lots and lots of alcohol burning.

Glenfiddich IPA Experiment
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed September 6, 2021 (edited January 8, 2022)First tasting of the evening. There is no IPA here! The taste is very pleasantly balanced. Smells like fruit marmalade from a wooden box. A lot of alcohol in taste and smell. Alcohol taste and alcohol burning in the mouth. A bit of wood in the finish. The taste is delicate, I do not recommend adding water. Mixes very well with apple compote.
