Tastes

Very light in color, like a white wine. N: Pastrami/bacon/sweet/alcohol. P: Smoked meat/alcohol/oily with a short, astringent smoky burn on the finish.

Fortunately and unfortunately got a chance to try this very early on in my whiskey experience. Had it neat in NYC at The Wren, I believe it was $28 for a glass. Memory serves a very unique oaky flavor that I thoroughly enjoyed with a nice long finish. I understand the hype around these bottles but in my currently limited experience still have not tasted anything in the bourbon world that matches this.

Along with Elijah Craig 12 I find this to be one of the best value bourbons I have found, see it regularly for $30. Fairly mature oaky flavor although not as much as the EC12 (I prefer this, I know some don't). Easy drinker for a great price.

Did not dislike this but I feel I just am not a fan of the Four Roses flavor, kind of a medicinal cherry finish that I can't put my finger on. To each's own. NS 36-5C.

Feel like I'm supposed to like this due to its reputation but found it very unpleasantly hot without much else...maybe this bottle got left out in the sun

Just finished this bottle. Every glass seemed to change my opinion of it. Decent smoke, salty with a somewhat bittersweet bourbon bite on finish. Nice when you're in the mood for peat but don't want to drink a campfire. Definitely good value and drinkable. Not sure I would buy again unless I realize this is as good at it gets at this affordable price point.

Has turned into one of my favorite go-to bourbons, always enjoy it. Personally tastes much better than $30-$35 price making it an easy decision to pour. Oaky, sweet, vanilla .. easy to drink, usually on a rock. Still have a bottle or two left of the 12 year. Haven't tried NAS yet, hopefully will be similar.

Not sure what happened with this ...may have been a bad bottle but was not drinkable
