Four Roses Yellow Label Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 28, 2014 (edited December 6, 2016)Third bourbon ever tried (EW black, WT 101). Resplendent golden color presentation. Floral oak and slight pear on the nose. Good texture on swirling in glass as slight syrup sticks. Pear, definite apricot upon taste and is that a hint of orange as well? Rye makes presence known upon rear sides of tongue at point of "Kentucky chewing." Apricot aftertaste most welcome. -
Wild Turkey Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 28, 2014 (edited April 24, 2018)Instant peppery, spicy greetings upon the tongue. You sense a touch of creamy vanilla a few moments afterward. But by then the pepper and the rye work their magic across your entire mouth. Goes down with a slight burn on this bourbon neophyte but then that spice - ooh yes. Didn't know if I'd like spice in a drink as I do in my food but WT 101 & I shall meet again.
