Tastes

Smooth, round, fruity flavor. Has the nose that most buffalo trace spirits give off. Good stuff.

Strong barrel taste and nose. High spice flavor. Peppery.

Great flavor. Big taste. Still smooth. Wonderful finish.

Smooth. Easy to drink. Probably great for an old fashioned.

About the same as jack. Just a different taste. Equally as mediocre.

I was more impressed with this the first time I tried it. Second go around, I tried this next to a blantons, Jefferson’s ocean, and a few others in this price range. I did not like this at all. It was so sharp compared to the drinks that I most enjoy like basil Hayden’s and blantons.

I love the story of this spirit but was not blown away by the taste. Compared to normal Jefferson’s, the taste of the Ocean aged reminded me of Woodford. It has more of the bright, spices flavoring than the vanilla, flat Jefferson’s small batch. Good drink, better story, not a bad buy.
