    This is your gateway Scotch. Feel free to stay here or venture out to older expressions of Speyside or to start slowly into Islay. I'd equate this to a Budweiser in beer terms- safe, appeals to masses, but not exciting.

    Demerara sugar on the nose, reminding me of the El Dorado 12 rum. Once tasted, you'll get some spice to remind you it's a whiskey. Smooth and lingering finish. A solid introduction into Japanese whiskey.

    This scotch blew me away with the strong smoke aroma but yet didn't overpower the fruit and richness in your mouth. A great foray into rich, smoky, and oily Scotch with an ABV that you'd mistake for 40%. It's that smooth.

    A hint of peat, so don't buy this if you're expecting smoke to hit you in the face. Very well balanced with the Sherry.

    A good introduction into peat. If you like JW Black, definitely try this blend. I'll be using this for my scotch cocktails. A steal for the price.

    A great introduction to blended Scotch without the peat and spice. A step up in complexity than the Asayla due to the French Oak heads. Soft and smooth finish.
