Smoky aroma. The nose seems to pick up the mezcal side more than the tequila side. But agave is definitely in there. Flavor is right in line. Heavy smoke. Light agave. Light sweetness. Some vanilla. But quite a burn on the finish that lasts a while. Heavy vanilla on the second sip. Quite delish18.0 USD per ShotBanditos Tacos & Tequila - National Landing Arlington VA

Aromas on the very sweet side. Grapefruit is evident. Not sure what hibiscus smells like. Can I assume it’s in there too. Perhaps that’s the floral character. It’s a little lavender highly muted by grape. Flavor keeps those aspects but is not as sweet as the nose would lead you to believe. I think I’d rather smell it than taste it. I mean. It’s not bad. But it smells great.Banditos Tacos & Tequila - National Landing Arlington VA

Aromas of tobacco and heavy smoke. There’s wood and some fruit notes. Very intense smoke on the flavor too. Peat and smoke. The first flavor and the finish are both smoky but a different type of smoky. The first sip is smoked peat. Or smoked meat. Or smoked newspaper actually. The finish travels into the smoked rubber territory. The burn is nice. I think if the finish were more consistent with the first touch of the tongue I would like this more.

Grangestone Highland Single Malt Bourbon Cask Finish
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 11, 2022 (edited November 8, 2024)Aromas of oak and vanilla. A little spice. Cinnamon. Pepper. Glove has the pepper hitting first but then the vanilla comes if before finishing way too quickly. Not much here.
