Basic of the basics when it comes to scotch, plus my first experience into scotch whiskey. Sharp bitter tongue with a sharp bitter aftertaste. Usually drink with a twist over ice, but trying neat this shows how bottom of the rung it is compared to black or double black, not to mention higher grades.

Initial smells of smoked charred oak and dark fruits. Strong alcohol presence. Tastes of bitter oak, plums, dates and nuts. Medium smoothness resulting in a basic drinkable scotch whiskey to me. Gifted so appreciated.

Heavy oak barrel with nice bitter notes of dark chocolate and smooth yet sweet hazelnut taste. Smells of chocolate, nuts and vanilla. Tasty

Slight Smokiness, and a nice medium bitter taste, complemented by a thick coated mouthfeel.

Spicy and oaky with a smooth dry finish
