Booker's Bourbon Batch 2018-04 "Kitchen Table"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 9, 2019 (edited June 12, 2019)Butter, cinnamon on the nose. More cinnamon on the palate and a burn that shoots straight up your nose on the first sip. A few drops of water or a very small ice cube tone that down and open up the floral side of the palate a bit. I’m loving this finish—peanut all the way. -
Found an unopened bottle from somewhere in the 1980s in my Dad’s stash. Less common brown flagon. Cork crumbled on opening, had to pry it out and then filter out the pieces with cheesecloth. Definitely a different kind of drink. I’m a bourbon guy, so this was quite sweet. Honey, molasses, fruit (raisins?), followed by wood. No real burn at all. This might be too cloyingly sweet for me, but I’ll be sure to keep coming back and trying it over time.

This is really nice. Strong vanilla on the nose. Vanilla and caramel on the palate, quickly followed by a sharp burn on the tongue that doesn’t burn down the throat. Totally a perfect classic bourbon. Now halfway through the bottle and I get a small hint of peanut on the finish, though not as strong as Booker’s. Really nice one to have on hand. Lucky to get this on sale at $31.99.32.0 USD per Bottle
