Lisa-92 Debby-90 Michael-92 Joe-94 The nose is not especially big with caramel, leather and wood, maple syrup comes to mind. The taste as Michael said starts easy and then explodes on your tongue. I think the flavors are dominated by the wood with oak and leather and a little smoke the most evident. Not floral or fruity, and while hot on the tongue it seems to come from the alcohol not from the grain as you might expect from a rye bourbon. It tastes like what I would expect from an older bourbon where the wood takes over, this may be because of the lack of the spiciness of rye. The finish is long, the longest of any bourbon I can recall. The alcohol also remains on the tongue for a long time.
