Jim Beam Black Label Extra-Aged
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed June 30, 2020 (edited July 1, 2020)Nose is nice and sweet with brown sugar, vanilla, and citrus. Taste is a different story. Heavy char up front followed by corn dust then with late sugars and baking spice in finish. Kind of a 2-3 note drink. Not complex enough for me. -
Bernheim 7 Year Original Wheat Whiskey
Wheat Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 24, 2020 (edited July 4, 2020)Cinnamon, vanilla, and dark fruit on the nose. Mild spice throughout, char and vanilla upfront followed by a fast finish of burnt sugars. The mouth coat holds with the oak char and vanilla present at the end. Not overly complex but pleasant. Just a fyi, the bottle need air for a while otherwise you will get tons of ethanol throughout.30.0 USD per BottleTJ's Market -
Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof Tennessee Whiskey
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed June 20, 2020 (edited June 23, 2020)Creamy vanilla and strong ethanol on the nose. Lots of spice up front. Char and sugar heavy on mid and a creamy caramel smooth finish. Adding a little water calms the spice but not the sweet smoothness. Very nice after water or ice with fantastic mouth coat. Gets better with each sip.65.0 USD per BottleMeijer -
Knob Creek 9 Year Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed June 18, 2020 (edited June 23, 2020)Nose: strong vanilla, nutty, and ethanol. Taste up front creamy brown sugar, then vanilla with baking spices followed by oak char. Good mouth coat and finishes with heavy char almost dry nutty on the tongue. Very typical burbon notes but a little heavy on the alcohol burn being only 100 proof.30.0 USD per BottleMeijer -
