Oh Ardbeg... how I love thee. Nose is the sea, yarrr! And and bacon or Canadian bacon?!? WTF?!? Mouth is salt and sweet for a moment then... holy hell pepper and smoke. Like the most pepper ever... all the pepper and all the smoke. How did they find this much pepper and smoke. Fan-fucking-tastic! I need a cigarette... okay, time for the next sip, yep... still intense and looney tunes. This is a cartoon maelstrom of green sea pepper madness.. I need a nap.

Nose of vanilla and toasted oak. In the mouth it is vanilla and a bit of maple then a pepper attack on the backside... nice, but I am not sure it is any better than the reg 9 year. Need to come back to this and maybe do an a vs b between them. PS did an A/B and the single barrel is slightly better, similar profiles but more intense (in flavors as well as proof). Oddly the nose is lighter than the standard knob... 🤷🏼‍♂️

Nose is smoke and toasted leather notes, aggressive but in a good way. Mouth is all over the place, little bit of sweetness that swirls into a pepper bomb. Lingering aftertaste of leather. It’s a fun rough ride... she throws you around a bit, but you like it.

Nose smells remarkably like fresh baked cornbread... all buttery and wonderful. I enjoyed the smell so much I accidentally just poured it in my nose and all over my beard... that was less enjoyable. In the mouth it starts off buttery and a bit of sweet brown sugar, then oak spice and pepper. It has legs and lingers for a good bit... throwing random flavors at you as it goes. Darn good stuff.

Barrel #1114. Nose is green apple and cinnamon. Mouth is bit dry, wood oil notes, bit of vanilla and then pepper. It’s different, and I think I like that it is, but I don’t love it

Nose is soft/light notes of vanilla and tiny bit of cinnamon. Mouth is the same, but with some oak, all well rounded off and buttery. It’s nice... drinks easy.

Damn I love the nose on this: honey, leather, vanilla, and milk chocolate. I want to get a spoon and eat it, but I can’t cause it’s whiskey... anyhoo, it tastes just like it smells, which in this case is a good thing. Okay I lied, it starts like it smells and then goes on a trip into dark fruit land before finishing with a bit of spice. Damn fine bourbon... I need to drink this more often.

IT’S BOURBON!!! That’s like all I can think of when I drink this... it’s just normal smelling & tasting bourbon... nose of caramel, tiny bit of smoke, green apples and mouth of vanilla and oak. Runs well. It’s just a dang good normal bourbon.

Batch #8. Rubbery musty nose, like a band-aid that went funky. Goes down smooth with vanilla notes, mild burn on the end. Nose funk doesn’t show up on the tongue. Fairly simple.

Remember that SNL skit about “Schweddy chocolate balls”? It’s that in a bottle.
