Glenmorangie The Original 10 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 25, 2015 (edited October 12, 2015)This is a complex whisky so it's hard to keep it short. On the nose It's mainly citrus fruits especially if you coat the glass with whisky. After a teaspoon of water sweet notes of vanilla and chocolate appear along with it hints of nuts and spice. On the taste a wave of spice hits at first followed by sweet notes. A combination of ripe fruits, peach-like, together with sweet wood lingers. Caramel, vanilla and fruits. Towards the end you taste the orange which then developed into a bitter smokey finish. A delicate whisky with a good ballance between fruits and spice. -
Its a whisky that pleases many tastes. Although most people will drink it with coke or on ice, I'd say Jameson goes nicely on its own. On the nose its green fruits, citrus with notes of vanilla, coffee and honey. On the palate it's light, slightly oily texture, sweet honey or tart like taste with a short spicy aftertaste. Great whiskey for a beginner.
