Redbreast 12 Year
Single Pot Still — IrelandReviewed September 1, 2022My favorite whiskey. Been drinking this for so long I forgot to include it here. Incredible.
Laphroaig 10 Year
Peated Single Malt — Islay, ScotlandReviewed August 26, 2022Wow. So smooth but packed with flavor. Vanilla nose, sweet, but very little sweetness when you taste. Strong, strong peat like burnt leather for a long time at the finish. Very unique; definitely not an everyday drink but this one is special.
Journeyman Distillery Silver Cross Four Grain Whiskey
Other Whiskey — Michigan, USAReviewed August 22, 2022This is really interesting. Fruity and harsh with long legs and a bit of malt at the end. Too sweet for me generally but very glad I tried it.
Bourbon — USAReviewed June 26, 2022Easy to shoot with a good flavor. Fan.
Angel's Envy Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky, USAReviewed June 24, 2022Better than the Caribbean cask but not by much. Smooth if nothing else. Hate that sweetness/fruitiness at the end.
Johnnie Walker Double Black
Peated Blend — ScotlandReviewed June 24, 2022 (edited July 3, 2022)Smokier, smoother, still with that vanilla/spice middle. Love this.
Johnnie Walker Black Label
Peated Blend — ScotlandReviewed June 3, 2022Good! Love the peat at the end. Smooth, great color, a good nose.
Jim Beam Original
Bourbon — Kentucky, USAReviewed June 3, 2022 (edited September 11, 2022)This is bad!
Basil Hayden Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USAReviewed May 29, 2022It’s okay. It’s not offensive, but is very simple and has a lot of straight alcohol burn afterward.
Widow Jane 10 Year Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — USAReviewed May 29, 2022One of the better bourbons I’ve had. A very sweet nose, which doesn’t come through at first sip but hides in the finish along with just the right amount of spiciness. Smooth in the mouth with just the right amount of burn at the end. Delightful.
