Eagle Rare 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 11, 2021 (edited October 16, 2021)Nose: Sweet, honey, Golden Grahams and graham cracker - light cherry with some floral notes (not a specific flower just a meadow of wildflowers) Taste: light and creamy, after a few sips an oaky/wood flavor- some burn that elevates over time. Still get that golden graham and honey flavor from the nose Finish: no burn, but the sweetness stays with you for a while There is a lot here in a 90 proof and so good -
I can see why Basil Hayden’s is loved and hated by people. I think this is a really solid weekday sipper or used for cocktails. Very buttery and brown sugar are flavors in the taste. Finish is pretty short and not much heat. For $30 to have as a starter bourbon for a tasting night or your go to when having a cocktail this is really solid and straight forward bourbon. If wanting to taste a more complex bourbon, this is perfect to warm up for your taste buds to get ready for something more complex.

Want to start by saying that I’m just not a fan of Ryes....did this convert me? No but there are enjoyable parts that will make me not automatically turn away from Ryes Really nice and pleasant nose so get a nice rye spice smell with some earthy-ness. Palate is really clean and brings the same earthy-ness and spice from the nose. A little burn that may be off putting to a non-rye seasoned taster. Do get some sweetness which was unexpected and enjoyable Finish - nice finish that stings a little bit on the sides of your tongue but and is medium in length
