Old Grand-Dad 114 Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 10, 2019 (edited October 6, 2019)Average color in the glass. Smooth smell to it, not what I expect from this high of barrel proof. Smells like an old leather wallet(doesn’t smell like ass) like an old leather wallet your grandfather (pun intended) handed down to you. Pretty smooth on the tongue, but then on the swallow it comes across as an aggressive firework of the barrel proof explosion burn, that you feel in your entire mouth. The only flavor I pick out is caramel popcorn. This remind me of some sort of fall festival/Christmas party hot spice drink, Give you the warmth mouth, throat, and chest feel as it goes down. -
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 7, 2019 (edited September 18, 2019)Really good. Pretty dark in the glass. Smells rich, and like fresh bread from a bakery and vanilla extract. Very smooth on the tongue. A good sweetness to it, taste like the caramel form the inside of a rolo topped with the same vanilla icing. Slight spice on the tongue. This bourbon makes me feel sophisticated. -
Jefferson's Very Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 7, 2019 (edited September 8, 2019)Very light color. A buttery Carmel and vanilla candy taste. Nice on the nose, not very aromatic though. Zero burn at all to the nose or taste, very thin mouth feel. Very little lingering taste, gone very quickly from the mouth. All in all, a very easy drinker, probably good for someone new to bourbon.
