Wasn’t big into this at my first tasting note, but I worked my way through it at a pretty high clip, so they must be doing something right. Might make me go further into oaky bourbons as a counterpoint to my continuing journey into ryes and rye-esques.

Definitely a well put-together whiskey. It’s got a wide variety of notes that aren’t shy in expressing themselves, conceivably related to an amaro or something equally variegated. Only drawback is that I’m not much for the flavors in this configuration, which, hey, can’t win ‘em all.

Getting some tasty tart notes on top of the oaky, chocolate notes. Define boost to what could have been a blander pour.

Strikes a somewhat impressive balance between citrus and floral notes. Nose is fairly concordant with the taste, provides a more continuous experience throughout the pour. Definitely an easy, enjoyable dram.

This is my first Speyside, so the nose is quite a bit trickier to parse than my usual bourbons. I can pick up on notes of honey with a slight tang, reminds me of honey sticks/straws. Also getting some pear, though I seem to pick that up with anything that has even a hint of fruit, so YMMV. On tasting, the melon + cinnamon is definitely there, though I'm having trouble picking up on the vanilla. Not a particularly boisterous dram, more approachable for sure.

Nose is tart fruit with a bit of green tea or something similar (herbal but light). Immense honey flavor, which is followed by tart fruit notes. Not much of a finish, nor as much complexity as I'd like. 6/10.

Sweet like a Port (rather than a sugary or honeyed sweetness). Getting some cinnamon as well, plus a vanilla ice cream finish.
