This is a complex "bad boy". This is a dram that you *must* take your time with. Play with a couple drops of water after neat. This seems to have some older years (some very old) blended with some of the new nice peatier offerings. It has a nice darkness to it that is comparable to the Ardbeg Dark Cove, but is it as good? Well, unfortunately, I don't think so, but if you lean more toward the peaty edge, you'll disagree with me.

Lagavulin Distillers Edition
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed July 19, 2017 (edited October 13, 2018)This one seems to divide scotch drinkers a lot. Here is the bottom line. If your are a peat head that doesn't mind a dram being balanced by PX cask influence, then you'll adore it like I do. If you're more of an "Octomorian" purist, you will be disappointed a tad, but just a smidgen.
