Loch Lomond 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands , Scotland
Reviewed August 13, 2021 (edited November 4, 2021)What is this unbalanced nonsense of smoke and rotten fruit? There are better bottles at half the price. This is a mixer. -
Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie Scottish Barley
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed July 8, 2021Nice punch at 100 proof, but it has to be because it can't handle any water. Good value, solid dram, but it's lacking in any particularly redeeming qualities. Aberfeldy 12 is a better whisky, even if it doesn't have the same Islay characteristics. -
Bruichladdich Bere Barley 2010
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed July 8, 2021 (edited December 4, 2021)Simple, sweet nose regardless of the glass. Slight burn from a young Scotch, however good. It's not objectively better than a classic, say Oban 14. But it has a creamy oiliness to it. It's a study in sweet hay and oak. 3.75 is what it deserves, but it's the most interesting 3.75 ever.
