Ancient Age (80 Proof)

Many call this poor man’s Blanton’s. Same recipe but immature as the flavor notes are there but flat and short lived. However, it deserves to never be passed up at its low level price point. 🥃

Had to be the worst bourbon I ever had. I mix it with Coke and it is still awful. I bought a big bottle that took so long to finish.

Hard to beat a budget bourbon that’s this good. With a little bit of age it could have been incredible.

Starting the new year off right!

Nose: vanilla, caramel and oak. Taste: vanilla, hint of caramel and sweet oak. Finish: mellow vanilla up front that transitions into a watery hint of caramel, small bite at the end. Ground yourself in that this is a bottom shelf Bourbon from Buffalo Trace and take your tasting notes from that fact. For me it’s not bad.
