Basil Hayden Dark Rye

Thick, sweet flavor. Easy drinker.

Cherries and burnt vanilla on the nose. Stone fruit and cherries are upfront on the palate that gives way to vanilla and bread notes. Next is pepper and a Classic strong rye finish.

I've had only one drink of this at a bar, 2 oz. ...so it's hard to judge. But what I do distinctly remember was that it was sweet, tart, and fruity... then after a bit, there was some odd soy saucy aftertaste. It wasn't terrible...just unexpected...and weird.
