Basil Hayden Dark Rye

Cut the Antica back to a half oz, or eliminate altogether, add the usual, especially chocolate, bitters and this makes a lovely quick Manhattan. A real Maraschino is a must of course. I’ve taken to a 1/2 oz of a barrel strength bourbon or Rye to punch up the flavor. My wife just adores this stuff.

I like this. Not complex but drinks real easy. Think brown sugar on rye bread. Shorter finish as you would expect for the proof. Nice dessert pour.

Spice .. wood ..smoke and a slightly sweet finish. Almost an instant old fashioned.

Easy drinking.
