Cleveland Underground Bourbon Finished in Black Cherry Wood

Reviewed June 30, 2020 (edited November 18, 2020)The nose of the bourbon is heavy with the scent of cherry and spice. There is also a faint scent of cask wood that slowly grows as you nurse the nose. On the pallet the whiskey possesses a cherried sweetness and a woody body that transitions into rich spice. As the drink matures on the tongue the wood develops into the aftertaste. The spice reminiscient of baking spices and settles into a warm glow in the chest. The whiskey is very good neat, but a drop of water may open it up nicely. -

Reviewed June 30, 2020 (edited November 18, 2020)Cherry comes through in the nose, along with a bit of nuttiness. It has a beautiful color. The taste is a wonderful blend of spice and velvet. The finish has a bit of spice and a wonderful taste of charred wood. The 5 rating is with water, which brings out a bit more sweetness. -
