I only rate on whole numbers, and it was tough deciding whether this was a four or a five. it may move up as I have it more. I am not a huge fan of peaty whiskey, but neither the nose nor the tasting had an overwhelming taste of peat. It had some hints of butter, and a little bit of oil to my senses. it was spicy without burning. And the finish was neat and clean.

I could live in this nose for hours, but I had to drink it because everyone was looking at me funny. The bouquet summons dried pineapple, lychee nut, lemon pith, sweet grass, smoked honey comb, and matchbook. All those notes transfer to the palate seamlessly. The finish gives in to a sweet and smokey dichotomy that doesn’t quit changing. This stays light without being boring or one dimensional.
smells peaty, wood. tastes a little peaty. woody. not super full but certainly not hollow — pleasing. absolutely nothing bad but not super complex or full. i like this level of peatiness.
