Reviewed August 18, 2020“ A gift from Mt.Fuji “ or so they say ; this is an interesting dram from Kirin Fuji-Gotemba Distillery that is bottled at 50% and non chill-filtered! For a decent price of about ¥5000. It is cut with water that came from the snow caps of Mt Fuji that then flowed into the spring below.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Nose: Strong Malt and vanilla, slight peat and oak.⠀ ⠀ Palate: As soon as it arrives it’s creamy and sweet then presents Strong wood tannin notes, slightly bitter at first. A light peat note that accompanies a sweet oak, honey, pepper, and floral taste. I also get a lot of Rye like spice notes. ⠀ ⠀ Finish: Medium and oily mouthfeel. Dry, peaty aftertaste that also has that lasting Spice notes. Almost again Rye and Bourbon like with a strong ethanol Sweetish oak remainder.50.0 USD per Bottle -
