Lagavulin 8 Year

This is consistently one of my favorite whiskys. The smoke and peat balance perfectly! There are subtle hints of fruit and a salty brine quality.

Very much like the 16yr but much hotter. Very smoky, but lacks the smooth finish you would expect for a single malt scotch.

This is anything but a light dram. It hits you with a bold dose of peat smoke, brine, and is slightly rubbery on the nose. Touch of sweetness on the palate with cooked pears and hint of mint. The finish is fairly intense, with charcoal smoke and peppery medium-long finish. I must admit that I appreciated the addition of a few drops of water in this one.
