Ohishi 8 Year Sherry Cask Whisky

A little harsh. Added 1ml water to 50ml sample to smooth it out. Could probably use another. Leather and vanilla. Woody with a bit of lingering sweetness.

Lots of sherry flavor, fruity, rice, lightly sweet

Smooth despite the age. More oak than sherry - too much oak and not enough sherry. No sign of peat or smoke.

Got this from a Flaviar tasting pack. I’m usually a Scotch fan and this falls right in my wheelhouse. Very tasty overall. Nose - sweet sherry and dark fruits, brown sugar, some sharper citrus and spice notes Taste - sharp and sweet, slightly oily, a sherry bomb with darker sugar notes, some oak bitterness Finish - dry spices and lingering, medium heat
