Old Forester 1920 Prohibition is caramel, vanilla, toffee, ethanol, faint smoke and oak on the nose. It is rich, smooth, oily, full, toffee, spice and smoke on the palate. It finishes sweet, slightly dry oak, cinnamon and a lingering warmth that is not too hot even though it's bottled at 115 proof.
The style of this Bourbon and the impetus for its creation makes you ponder about the nature of our country in the Roaring 20's. I think this Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Bourbon would be best paired with watching some Boardwalk Empire.
