Nose - Fairly oaky sweet vanilla, hint of wet cardboard, this earthy sweet cherry stored in a cellar where it's lightly musty, but sweet and kind of pleasant. There's also this very faint occasional hint of this freshly baked sweet rye bread.
Taste - Very pleasant vanilla, hints of cherry sweet, cinnamon spice, good balanced amount of a slightly drying tannic oak, hints of light bitter dark chocolate and a very light caramel sweet.
Finish - Cinnamon heat lingers combined with a cherry cough syrup sweetness, light bitterness like that of a crushed stone fruit pit. Lingering oaky vanilla sweetness.

Final Thoughts - So the nose on this one wasn't the greatest to me. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. It had a few interesting notes that might sound off-putting, but it worked. I found that the taste and finish were a lot better than what the nose promised, which I found nice. Overall a very tasty bourbon, but I'm not sure if this is something I'd really reach for regularly. As I type these final thoughts, I continue to get this slight sour cherry vibe on the finish that makes me think this might pair pretty well in a cocktail using some Maraschino liqueur.
