Old Grand-Dad Bourbon (80 proof)

Very oaky on the nose. The woodiness continues on the palette as well. Nice and smoky. Some light fruitiness and vanilla as well. Not super complex but very drinkable

For a whiskey under $20, Old Grand-Dad 80 is surprisingly good. It's a high rye bourbon which is quite spicy, peppery and sweet. On the palate I get sweet corn, brown sugar and cinnamon. It actually reminds me a lot of the regular Bulleit Bourbon. Not that unique and complex, but highly drinkable.

Sweet aroma, smooth on the toung, some of the bitter as it goes down. Warm as it hits bottom. Good sipping neat as usual.

Fairly smooth, minimal alcohol bite
