Penelope Toasted Barrel Strength Bourbon

4.15 sweet caramel & oak

I like the regular Penelope barrel strength and usually like toasted bourbon, but this did not hit the mark for me. A little too smoky on the palate and finish. Nose was like a stale newspaper or construction paper.

Smells like ethanol. Tastes better than it smells. Lots of wood, spicy, medium finish.

Smells fantastic!!! Sweet toasted vanilla & caramel. Sips EASY. A light oily blend of the above with a hint of chocolate mint. Long finish expected for the strength. (Blind taste w Blanton's SB- SO GOOD!) CHAR 2 /TOAST MED - excellent pick!
