Reviewed September 21, 2022Quite nice and not as intense as I expected. Apple, brown sugar, tobacco, nice oak notes and even noticed a bit of pineapple on the nose. (Call me crazy.) There's some spearmint and pepper spice as well. It goes down smooth. -

Reviewed August 21, 2022Nose: vanilla and floral Palate: I don’t get a lot of pepper like I usually do with ryes; some warmth and leather on the back end Finish: drinks lower than a 104 proof rye, but long lasting subtle finish Overall: I haven’t been a big fan of other Russell bottles, but I like this one. I might need to revisit some previous tastings. -

Reviewed June 3, 2022 (edited August 1, 2023)Very Turkeyesque on the nose, along with some mint, pine, vanilla sugar. On the palate just really pleasant all the way through. Sweet, but not cloying. The proof is right. Caramel, vanilla, rye on finish with a little mint and dill. Not super woody, but it doesn't taste young at all. Great balance. I'm a Wild Turkey fan, so I was sure I'd like this. And I do. It's an easy rye to enjoy. Thumbs up.
