Balvenie Single Barrel 15 Year

Bourbon cask, yet not overly spicy. Higher proof, but not overly powerful. Honey, vanilla, and rich fruit juice. Very flavorful and full bodied. I REALLY enjoyed this dram.

Leather to start, honey lemon lime vanilla cream crackers then turns zesty from citrus notes. A lingering finish very long spicy salty yet creamy . I find this is the best expression of Balvenie similar to the old founders reserve. Expensive at 140 Canadian / bottle.

11/21/2015 at MW restaurant week. Everything you want in a whiskey, full and rich, definitely spicier than others. Went well with the steak, went even better with the sweetness if the lemon mirange pie.
