The Big Smoke 46 (Duncan Taylor)

Reviewed December 17, 2020Not sure why this has such a low rating - it’s a very solid peaty/smoky Scotch. Has all the hallmarks of an Islay/Islands Scotch - the smoke, the peat, the saline quality, etc. It really reminds me of Ledaig, so much so that I wonder if that’s a component of this blend. -

Reviewed December 14, 2020Probably would have passed by this blend, but tasing blind I feel like I found a winner. Heavy on the peat and smoke, with plenty more there too. -

Reviewed December 14, 2020First sniff has heavy smoky notes and burnt caramel, also smells like propane lol. First taste is heavy smoke notes with burnt vanilla and caramel end notes have a spicy and earthy tone such as moss like. -

Reviewed December 14, 2020Light campfire in the nose. Flavor is low smoke with peat earthiness. Finish has long last g smoke, as if you were able to exhale smoke rings. Angel did not enjoy the smoke. -

Reviewed December 14, 2020Flaviar Advent Calendar. Nose: smoke, ash, brine. Palate: mild sweetness, spicy, nutty. Very spicy long finish. More lagavulin smoke than bruichladdich/laphroaig/ardbeg. I enjoyed but wish I had more on the nose
