Wild Turkey Bourbon 101

Very good pour. Complex and approachable. Classic high rye bourbon flavor. Very smooth given its ABV. A few ice chips sweetened up the drink but did not dampen the flavors. Great value. It simply tastes like America in a bottle. Welcome to the party Russell's WT!

An addendum to a recent review I posted. I’m sipping this right now and after my first dram (neat) I had an epiphany: After the myriad of times I’ve sipped WT101, each time I chew on this stuff, it’s like the band Foreigner once said: Feels Like the First Time!! Seriously; 101 never ceases to please and surprise. It’s rich, full bodied, and so incredibly fucking balanced! The sweetness never overpowers the spice, that light/right rye, not to mention that old cedar cigar box mustiness. Like my wife of 39 years, it never disappoints. Cheers!!

On the nose is rich sweet caramel toffee, floral vanilla, oak wood, smoky barrel char and a touch of spice with hints of lemon citrus, peppermint, cherry candy, candied ginger and cola. - To the palate it is warm wood, sweet toffee, vanilla bean, cherry candy, barrel char, ginger root, sweet corn, black pepper and buttery salted caramel with hints of herbs, flowers and soft black licorice candy. - The finish has a nice, smoky, toasted oak flavour that lingers with that rich, sweet, peppery spice. — The longer this sits in the glass, the more I get out of it! With a splash of water it gets a touch sweeter, more herbal and floral on the nose, then more oily on the palate with a touch more citrus, lemon pepper towards the finish. —//— Bourbon Mark: 92
