@cascode Brilliant! 😂
Ha ha! Don't you hate it when that happens 😄 I was part of a focus group invited to taste the range offered by a new local distillery in 2019. When they asked for comments I could only purse my lips, look down and nod. Lord knows what they made of that. The worst experience I've had was at a cider festival a few years back - I literally has to spit out a disgusting cider in front of the guy who made it. I told him I was spitting that day so I could pace myself for tasting a lot of drinks and then hurried off without waiting for him to ask what I thought of it.
@cascode I completely agree. I was invited to a vertical tasting at the distillery a few years ago and had to put on a brave face when talking with the distillers - there were some pretty awful whiskies!
I get a resinous aroma on nearly every Auchentoshan that is quite off-putting. The very old ones and a lot of the independent bottlings seem better, sometimes excellent, but the core range leaves me cold.
