Nose- vanilla and oak notes. Slightly fruity sweet.
Palate- chocolate covered cherries to start that folds into a slight vanilla and tingle of spice notes.
Finish- mild vanilla and oak with a lingering fruity note.
Overall- for a “budget” whiskey this is pretty complex with multiple layers. A first swig might render it as more basic than its reputation, but I keep uncovering more layers with each sip. It’s price makes you want to make it an everyday drinker, but it’s rarity makes you take your time.
